Hello Everyone..
(With reference to Catalina’s Neuter and Release Program Thread)
The idea of a CNR Program is to… Catch, Neuter and Release stray animals..
NOT “rescue” or “buy” them from an animal shelter for release.
By doing so, you are insulting that organisation and the good that they HAVE done..
Each organisation have their own policies, policies that they see fit for the betterment of their organisational growth.
We may disagree with their policies but one has to respect that it is their prerogative.
Work such as this is not about popularity.. To attain popularity, though ideal, would defeat its purpose.
You’ll never know what it takes to make such an organisation work if you’re not actively involved.. if you’re not in it..
I personally doubt any animal shelters like SPCA would need to put any animal to sleep if everyone plays an ACTIVE role in caring for the welfare of the strays.
It’s just so sad that people in general unjustly treat SPCA as a dumping ground for unwanted pets or stray animals..
Tell me.. what would you do if you were wearing SPCA’s oversize shoes..?
So, everyone.. it does take two to tango..
And for every animal that is put to sleep, you and I are to blame too..
Remember, inaction.. or lack of thereof.. is just as bad.. and is a definite contributing factor too..
Again.. the definition of a CNR Program is to catch the animals ourselves, have them neutered on our own and releasing them where we see fit.. NOT swipe them FROM an animal shelter..
Thank you so much, everyone..
Yours sincerely,
SCCARFS Pet Connection Project
