SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Affiliation

Hello Everyone..

We at SCCARFS Pet Connection Project have received numerous enquiries as to whether we are affiliated to SPCA in any way..

The answer is.. No..

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project is an independant and personally funded project.

We are not affiliated or linked to any other groups, societies or organisations.

We have pretty much kept a low profile all these years though we have already been actively rescuing and releasing neutered animals.. all at a pace that we were comfortable handling..

It is only recently that we decided to make our project known to the public to help facilitate possible adoption before releasing the fully-recovered-neutered animals back into suitable locations.. and also to expand on the work that we do through the participation of individuals who share the same views as us..

We therefore hope to be able to reach as many possible out there to spread the need and importance of neutering not just one’s pets but the stray population as well..

Everyone needs to play an active role..

Thank you so much, everyone..

Yours sincerely,
SCCARFS Pet Connection Project

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Damsels in Distress

Hello Everyone..

Yesterday.. we at SCCARFS Pet Connection Project received a distress call from Sabrina of SPCA..

The plan to send the animals rescued and neutered under the Friends of Felix Program to Noah’s Ark in Johor has fallen through.

In case you guys are not aware of it.. Noah’s Ark is not a full fledged animal sanctuary.

Noah’s Ark IS doing a good thing but to be able to run effectively, they need to charge a monthly fee for every animal that is sent in.

So anyway, poor Sabrina had to run around finding temporary homes for the animals already neutered so that they could fully heal and recuperate before releasing them.. a first for them..

Therefore, as of yesterday.. we now have FIVE additional cats to care for that WE at SCCARFS PCP hope are able to re-home before SPCA takes them back..

Work like this is very challenging.. and is difficult most times..

None of us at SCCARFS PCP gets paid to do this.

Neither does the volunteers of SPCA or any other such organisation.

We care and we give simply because we want to.. and we are aware of the ups and downs of such an undertaking.. but we still do it willingly..

With that.. WE at SCCARFS salute Sabrina and E-Ching for their personal care and dedication towards the stray animal population..

Their care and sacrifice for the animals would put MOST of us to shame.. for most people would pale in comparison in acts where and when it truly matters..

Think about it, everyone..

Thanks..

Yours sincerely,

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Joan of Cats

Hello Everyone..

Yesterday, the team at SCCARFS Pet Connection Project visited a lady by the name of Joan F in the TTDI vicinity.

Joan is currently caring for over forty cats in her house and another thirty or so outside her home… all by herself!!

Joan is now 58 years old and going 59 real soon.

So.. we at SCCARFS have pledged to assist Joan find homes for her lovely cats so that she can retire and migrate to Australia where her family is.

Yup, everyone.. Joan is here simply because of her beloved pets.. and she is here alone because she chose to care for the animals that she has rescued.

THIS is the true meaning of sacrifice..

This is the definition of the word “giving” at the highest level..

Joan’s cats are absolutely gorgeous.. and are like little puppies.. They’re huge!!

So, to all those who love BIG cats.. do keep a look-out as to when the cats will be moved over to our hideaway for adoption..

And of course, if you would like to adopt a cat simply to help Joan.. that would be great.. and we at SCCARFS would be grateful..

Thanks, everyone..

Yours sincerely,

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Angels and Updates

Hello Everyone..
Hi Carebear, Momo and Lesley..

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement..

We at SCCARFS have been really busy lately.. thus the lack of updates..

Lots have happened but we can only share a fraction of the news, challenges and excitement due to time constraints..

Faizah’s sister, Fazilah (aka Zizi) and her friend, Halim.. came by to collect the two big bags of cat food that SCCARFS has pledged to them to assist in the care of their forty cats..

And you know what.. ANGELS come in many forms!

Halim and Zizi were very kind to assist US instead in some unfinished carpentry work for a huge walk-in cage that we were planning.

Thanks, Zizi and Halim.. We at SCCARFS are very grateful for your help that evening..

This is yet another example of what we at SCCARFS believe in.. The beauty and magic in giving… with no cables attached!!

Then, we had to wait for Sya to arrive with her sister and the pregnant cat that she was distressed over.

Please bear in mind that SCCARFS generally do not take in strays from others but we do consider the situation on a case to case basis..

Anyway, the deal we made with Sya was that we would care for the momma cat till she has birthed and nursed her kittens, after which Sya will be responsible for the spaying of the momma cat and finding new homes for the kittens.

The momma cat will be cared under SCCARFS’ CNR Program and is scheduled for release outside Sya’s home after she has fully healed from the surgery..

By the way, Sya.. momma won’t pop her load till about another two weeks or so.. and she is currently adapting well to her new temporary home..

Alli dropped by with her family to visit Mogwai..

Mogwai was estatic with all the cuddles and love that Alli was showering upon her.

Alli will also be adopting two of the kittens under Nora’s care..

Thanks, Alli..

Chester went home with Meen’s brother.. but we have just received news that Kobe may not be too pleased with Chester’s arrival..

Apparently, fur has been flying..

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for Meen’s Chester and Kobe..

Thank you so much, everyone..

Yours sincerely,

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Introducing Madison

Hello Everyone..

This is Madison..

Madison is Magic’s bini tua..

Madison is a tough cookie but she loves only Magic. I’ve seen her smack at dogs and attack other cats.

Madison is very “jantan”.. though she does look very feminine.

She’ll mark your property too if you’re not looking, which is rather odd since that is very uncharacteristic of a female.. what more a spayed female cat..

Despite her tough attitude, she does display very feminine characteristics.

She walks like a lithe and limber model on those skinny and long legs of hers and typical of most females, Madison has a shoe fetish too..

I did attempt to point out to her that she has rather appalling taste in shoes but she just gave me a dirty look.

Madison also understands the goodness of aromatherapy as shown in the picture of her sitting in my pot of curry leaves.. R.I.P. my curry leaf plant..

Have a great day, everyone..

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Neighbourhood Hero

Hello Everyone..

Yesterday evening.. I saw Magic chasing away one of our neighbourhood tough guy.. complete with a warning growl!!

My neighbour calls him the neighbourhood Hero..

So.. to anyone who says otherwise about neutered male cats being sissy and whatever other negative connotations, I’ll happily let Magic shred YOU apart himself..

Have a great day, everyone..

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Magic’s Lessons

Hello Everyone..
Hi Horatio..

The red/ orange one is called Magic.. and he was the one who taught me the importance of neutering ALL your pets..

Magic came to me as an adult. At that time, I had already started neutering many animals, not just my own but the strays too..

But for some reason, I felt bad for Magic.. and thinking that he was already an older cat.. I left him and only him alone..

Tis a bad choice, Su..

I can assure you Dr Lynn berated me repeatedly for that..

Anyway, to cut a long story short.. I now have more than one orange cat to worry about.

When you love your pets, you’ll recognise their faces and I KNEW which orange cat was a product of Magic’s libido just by looking at them..

So.. old or not.. snip snip chop chop..

I now neuter ALL animals.. regardless of age, size, etc..

Once they are old enough.. for the females, approximately above six months old.. and for the males, between eight months to a year old.. SPAY SPAY NEUTER NEUTER..

Because if an animal you care for produces more.. the extras are indirectly YOUR responsibility too..

.. and by the way, people.. in case you’ve not realised it.. Magic is a BOY cat!!

.. and YES, you are still responsible when your darling boy goes out and decides to spread his seeds and create little Magics..

Thank you so much, everyone..
Thanks, H..

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Liza & Updates

Hello Everyone..

Over the weekend..

Liza Liza dropped by and adopted another kitty from us to accompany her gray tabby, Milo, that she previously adopted from us…
She is also considering adopting another orange and white kitty, Rudolfa, from us..
Thanks, Liza!!

Meen sent a message that his Kobe now sleeps in his bed with him and is missing a threesome experience with Chester, whom we’re still holding back at SCCARFS when we detected him having the sniffles earlier..
Chester should be able to join Meen and Kobe by this weekend..

Horatio visited us and we had a great time discussing about the welfare of stray animals in general..

Faizah’s cat food arrived.. Call us, Faizah.. for delivery arrangements..

The mangy cat can now open his eyes and see..

A newly rescued mommy cat unloaded her cargo of three beautiful kittens, just several days after we took her in.. Talk about excellent timing..

All in all.. it was an exhausting but good weekend..

Thanks so much, everyone..

Yours sincerely,

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Magic’s Journey

Hello Everyone..

This is Magic.. before and after castration..

Except for his, err.. loss of balls (hmm.. pardon my language..).. he is still pretty much the same tough old boy…

And he still have many girlfriends visiting him.. much to Madison (his bini tua)’s disgust..

I kid you NOT!!

Have a good day, everyone..

Yours sincerely,

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – External CNR Proposal

Hello Everyone..
(With reference to Catalina’s Neuter and Release Program Thread)

The idea of a CNR Program is to… Catch, Neuter and Release stray animals..

NOT “rescue” or “buy” them from an animal shelter for release.

By doing so, you are insulting that organisation and the good that they HAVE done..

Each organisation have their own policies, policies that they see fit for the betterment of their organisational growth.

We may disagree with their policies but one has to respect that it is their prerogative.

Work such as this is not about popularity.. To attain popularity, though ideal, would defeat its purpose.

You’ll never know what it takes to make such an organisation work if you’re not actively involved.. if you’re not in it..

I personally doubt any animal shelters like SPCA would need to put any animal to sleep if everyone plays an ACTIVE role in caring for the welfare of the strays.

It’s just so sad that people in general unjustly treat SPCA as a dumping ground for unwanted pets or stray animals..

Tell me.. what would you do if you were wearing SPCA’s oversize shoes..?

So, everyone.. it does take two to tango..

And for every animal that is put to sleep, you and I are to blame too..

Remember, inaction.. or lack of thereof.. is just as bad.. and is a definite contributing factor too..

Again.. the definition of a CNR Program is to catch the animals ourselves, have them neutered on our own and releasing them where we see fit.. NOT swipe them FROM an animal shelter..

Thank you so much, everyone..

Yours sincerely,
SCCARFS Pet Connection Project
Su
