SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Life’s Scratches

Hi Everyone..

I have to retract the comment that all our cats do not scratch nor hiss from an earlier input in this thread. I apologise for that!

We do have ONE, a gray tabby, that we’ve had since he was born. He was always a timid fella and we’ve never seen him aggresive before.. but last weekend, he freaked out a little.. and I now have the same physical markings as him.
Thanks, Shameen..

However, I’m so happy that Shameen decided to adopt him and give him a home that the scratches and puncture wounds (several of which one about SIX inches long) didn’t even bother me at all.

We at SCCARFS realise that SCRATCHES comes with the territory.

Handling and caring for these animals is a challenge and a continually risky affair.. but we won’t change it for anything..

Thanks so much, everyone..
and Happy Holidays!!

Yours sincerely,
SCCARFS Pet Connection Project

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Contributions

Hi All..
Hi TinkerBell..

Thank you for your suggestion..

We at SCCARFS Pet Connection Project HAVE thought about it..

It’s just that since we’ve been doing this for so long.. we’re just absolutely estatic and very appreciative as it is each time we find one of those cats a new and good home.

That is also why we can only take in a limited number each time so as to not be overwhelmed by potential constraints that usually comes with such an undertaking.

We would, of course, appreciate all contributions.. in whatever form.. to assist us in our quest to help other stray animals.

Thank you so much!!

Yours sincerely,

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – No Adoption Fees

Hello Everyone..
Hi Alice..

Actually, all the kittens are absolutely gorgeous!!

The pictures didn’t do the others justice and it didn’t help that some were much more interested in the surrounding activities than to pose for me..

Also, my new camera flashes red light right onto their faces, which kinda freaked out the older cats a little, thus the reason why many looked away from the camera’s lenses this time..

All the kittens pictured are currently a little over one month old with the oldest being about two months old.

Please do bear in mind that the adoption process is on a first come first served basis.

I would definitely recommend you dropping by so that you can get to know the characteristics of the different kittens before deciding.

That was how Liza chose her new boy. He charmed her with his exquisite laid back behaviour! It was absolutely heartwarming to see him cradling comfortably in her arms!

To all those interested in visiting us, please call or send me an email with your fax number or email address and I’ll fax or email the location map to you..

Oh.. and we do not charge any adoption fees.

All that matters to us at SCCARFS is for the animals to find good and loving homes..

Thank you so much!

Warmest Regards,
Su

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Snatching Kittens

Hi Everyone..
Hi Suzy..

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project abide by the policy of NOT separating any kittens from their mother unnecessarily.

If we are unable to catch the mother in the first place, we do NOT touch the kittens at all nor do we go anywhere near it.

Only if the kittens are in a dire and critical situation that we swoop in and interfere. We attempt to interfere with their potentially untimely demise, that is.. as in the cases of the two litters mentioned previously.

That’s why we prefer to catch pregnant mothers. At least they’ll have a proper place to give birth to their precious kittens.. and not have to worry about food and nutrition.

The team at SCCARFS understands very well the laws of the stray animal kingdom.

Even if we do not completely trust the mother cat for whatever reasons, we will NOT touch or remove the kittens.. no matter how much it breaks our heart to walk away.

Our only consolation in such a situation is for us to leave some food and water for the mother and come back to check on them later.

All situations of kitten rescues by SCCARFS were seriously considered beforehand. All kittens rescued by SCCARFS was necessary to avoid further sufferings and miserable deaths.

Of course, this only apply to kittens still dependant on their mothers.

If we do come across kittens already able to “merayap” and take kibbles or soft food, we DO and WILL snatch them off the streets and alleyways.

If we can help it, we prefer they do NOT grow up as strays and mistrust humans.. no matter how valid the reason..

Yours sincerely,
SCCARFS Pet Connection Project
Su

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Distance Is Not An Issue

Hello Everyone..
This reply is for all those who live outside the Selangor/ KL area.

I have received enquiries from several interested to adopt the animals pictured in this thread.

However, some of you live in other parts of the country.

If SCCARFS has been able to prompt you to open your hearts and door to a stray animal, please do NOT let distance be a deterrent!

We live in a time where many animals are suffering.. everywhere.. around us.

Go to the nearest animal shelter you know of.. If you do not know of any, I’m sure the local vets can assist..

Or help and save that stray animal you saw at the mamak stalls.. or when you went shopping at the local markets..

Every bit helps! It would for that particular animal YOU rescued anyway!

I can tell you for sure.. saving lives sure beats knitting!

Yours sincerely,

SCCARFS Pet Connection Project – Abandoned Kittens

Hi Everyone..

These kittens were found less than ONE day old, still with the umbilical cord intact.

Their mother abandoned them.. all in separate and highly risky locations.

A friend who found them called us for advice and observed them for half a day to watch if the mother came back for them and gather them up.

Unfortunately, she didnt..

So our friend had to climb over and into different neighbours’ compunds to gather them together. We were also worried about ants and other insects or predatory animals getting to them.

This mother cat obviously had no motherly instinct whatsoever. She gave birth macam tercicir benda aje.

These poor kittens never had a chance. Without their mother’s milk for the initial growth stage, they had it tough from the moment they were born. All the different brands of kitten milk we tried was not good enough.

We tried everything to entice the mother to come back to at least nurse them but she looked like she didn’t even remember having gave birth!

Please, WOMEN!.. you DON’T do the same as the mother cat, ok..

Anyway, the kittens didn’t last very long without their mommy. It was heart wrenching to watch them leave us.. one by one, despite all that we tried to save them.

Please everyone.. it is very important to have the animals spayed and neutered to prevent such happenings.

The animal does not have to be yours for you to help prevent sufferings.

If someone had spayed that momma cat, these four would never have had to suffer.

The onus is on us humans to make the world a better place..
